A South Florida man has pleaded guilty to federal charges after he posted online threats against Trump administration officials Marco Rubio and Kristi Noem, including one in which he wrote, “Both of you will be executed,” court records show.

Jon Christopher Enriquez, 47, of Miami, entered an agreement with federal prosecutors on Friday, pleading guilty to three counts of transmitting threats through interstate communications, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida announced Wednesday.

On May 27, the U.S. Department of State’s Diplomatic Security Service was alerted to one of Enriquez’s post on X directed at Secretary of State Rubio and Department of State Special Envoy Noem, according to a factual proffer statement, the facts agreed on by the prosecution and defense.

Three posts from the account which belonged to Enriquez included threats against Rubio and Noem and were all shared on May 27. In one, Enriquez tagged Rubio and wrote, “Silence yourself. Before you start thinking that America owns Cuba and start talking trash and calling Cuba a failure, the Criminal Court of the Armed Forces is going to begin the investigation of you as a failure to your nation,” the court document said. He wrote later in the post that they would be executed three hours after his post.

In a second post 20 minutes later, Enriquez wrote, “@SecRubio I guess the only way that you are going to shut your mouth is through DEATH,” the factual proffer said. Enriquez in the third post later that afternoon wrote in English and Spanish, “Rubio AND Noem are to be executed at 16:00,” and tagged Telemundo in the post.

A sentencing hearing is set for October. He faces up to five years in federal prison for each count.
