WASHINGTON — The House Committee on Ethics recommends that North Carolina Rep. Chuck Edwards be censured for sexual harassment.

“At the completion of its investigation, the committee concluded there was substantial reason to believe Representative Edwards violated House Rules related to sexual harassment and hostile workplaces,” the committee said.

Axios and NOTUS first reported the House ethics investigation against Edwards.

Among the allegations are:

—Traveling to Las Vegas with an employee 40 years his junior.

—Sending a three-page letter saying an employee had written a complex chapter in his heart.

—Buying two employees a pink and a blue gun.

—Having an employee serenaded at her birthday party.

—Sending an employee a puzzle to invite her to an Adam Sandler comedy show.

—Buying an employee jewelry.

—Buying an employee a designer bag.

Edwards has denied any wrongdoing and continued to do so to the ethics committee, they reported in a news release.

Edwards, after reviewing the report, waived parts of the investigative process, which allowed the committee to move forward in seeking sanctions against him.

The committee plans to bring a privilege resolution to the House floor to seek a censure against him.
