Trump suggests Grand Rapids, Michigan, as host for a presidential debate

Republican nominee Donald Trump is floating Grand Rapids as a host city for a potential presidential debate next month, but Democratic candidate Kamala Harris has not yet agreed to participate in the event.
Both Trump and Harris are planning to take part in a debate, hosted by ABC, on Sept. 10.
In a post on Truth Social early Sunday morning, Trump said the Sept. 10 debate would be in Philadelphia, he wants to have a debate on Sept. 4, hosted by Fox News, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and another on Sept. 25, hosted by NBC, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
"Details to follow," Trump wrote. "I look forward to seeing Kamala at all three debates."
Harris, the current vice president, became the Democratic nominee after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race on July 21. She has not agreed to participate in the Sept. 4 debate.
Michigan Democrats have reported an increase in volunteers and campaign donations since Harris, who's 22 years younger than Biden and a former U.S. senator from California, emerged as their new candidate.
A Detroit News and WDIV-TV poll conducted late last month showed Harris and Trump, the former president, in a dead heat for Michigan's 15 electoral votes.
During a campaign stop in Michigan last week, Harris said she was “happy to have that conversation” about another debate, according to the Associated Press.
