Jane Seymour 'wasn't wearing any clothes' when husband-to-be proposed

Newly-engaged Jane Seymour was stark naked when John Zambetti proposed.

The Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman sparked rumors of an engagement when she was spotted wearing a diamond ring on the red carpet earlier this week, with the couple confirming the happy news to People.

They also opened up about the moment John popped the question at their Malibu home, with the musician admitting things didn't quite go to plan.

He said: "I got down on my knees, the whole thing. I had the ring hidden in the safe, pulled out the ring. I opened the box, and the ring popped out of the box, onto the bed.

Then I had to climb under the bed, and then I couldn't get out, and she had to get out of the bed and pull me out of the bed."

Jane then chimed in: "And we weren't wearing any clothes!"

She added that while there was some "serious bedhead involved", the funniest bit was that "he couldn't get up afterwards".

Jane laughed: "His knee was now stuck from being under the bed and I'm not strong enough to pull him up because he weighs almost twice what I do.

"We looked at one another and started laughing hysterically."

As for the ring he chose, John spotted one that struck a chord in more ways than one.

He explained: "I saw this one ring that really spoke to me. Because it had two stones in it. I mean, normally an engagement ring would be one stone, but I like the fact that it had two stones, and they had a little pavé path leading up to each stone.

"I thought, like, it's the two of us together, and there's our past lives each leading up to us being together."

Now that they are engaged, Jane and John can get to work planning their wedding.

It will be Jane's fifth time down the aisle, but she's determined to celebrate in style as she knows this one's for good.

She said: "I just feel nothing but pure unconditional love and support. And my worry has always been -- I've been through betrayals. I've been through a lot of ups and downs in life and I don't know that I dare trust myself, let alone anyone else anymore."

Jane added of her husband-to-be: "He's just the kindest, most intelligent, loving, caring, giving human being I've ever met."
