Madonna’s well-documented tryst with John F. Kennedy Jr. in the 1980s is back in the news this week after she recorded a video with some artist and designer friends to promote her new album, “Confessions II,” and they got her to dish about some of her famous sex partners.

According to Page Six, the 67-year-old “Material Girl” did not hold back when she was asked in the video to name her best-ever lover. She insisted she would only talk about dead people, so that means she wasn’t going to spill the tea on Sean Penn, her first husband from 1985 to 1989, or on her strange liaison with famous Hollywood lothario Warren Beatty in the early 1990s.

Instead, Madonna’s response to the best-sex question got everyone around her shrieking, according to the Daily Beast. In a whisper, she dropped a very big name: “John Kennedy Jr.”

“Shut upppppppp!” her friends exclaimed in the video, the Daily Beast reported.

When designer Raul Lopez mentioned all the gossip about Kennedy Jr.’s prowess and attributes in bed, Madonna expressed her assent by uttering, “Mmm hmm.”

“You’re the third person I’ve heard say that,” Lopez said.

Kennedy Jr. died in 1999 at age aged 38 when the plane he was piloting crashed into the Atlantic Ocean off Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts. Kennedy’s wife, Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, and her sister, Lauren Bessette, also were on board and were killed.

But even if Kennedy Jr. is no longer alive to tell his side of this story about Madonna, the Daily Beast reported that their affair in the late 1980s has been “widely documented” by books and articles on the Kennedy family.

“She came on to him, and it was flattery. She was at the top of her game,” an unidentified friend said in the 2024 book, “JFK Jr.: An Intimate Oral Biography,” the Daily Beast reported. That friend added: “He loved her body. It was all about physical attraction; it wasn’t going to be anything beyond that.”

But this same friend also suggested that Madonna and Kennedy Jr. never went “all the way,” while referring to their hookup as “barely a fling.”

During the encounter, “they didn’t have the protection measures and she was very on top of HIV prevention,” the friend said. But the friend also said they had “fun in other ways.”

Others said Kennedy Jr. was so captivated by Madonna that he gave her a set of keys to his apartment, author J. Randy Taraborrelli revealed, according to the Daily Beast.

But, not surprisingly, Kennedy Jr.’s mother, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, did not approve of a romance between her son and the pop star, Taraborrelli said in his 2023 book, “Jackie: Public, Private, Secret.”

It didn’t help that Madonna was still married to Penn at the time, but the former first lady was mostly dismayed by some her personal choices. “Jackie had spent her entire celebrity life avoiding paparazzi, whereas Madonna would court paparazzi. And Jackie just couldn’t understand any of that,” Taraborrelli told People in a 2023 interview.
