ORLANDO, Fla. — Authorities arrested a Central Florida woman who posted threatening messages on Facebook to shoot up a private school where she was once a student.

On Wednesday, officers arrested 30-year-old Oksana Deputat, according to a press release from the Ocala Police Department.

Deputat, a former student, wrote on social media that she was “so f------ close to shooting up Meadowbrook Academy,” according to the affidavit.

The school website describes it as “a premier faith-based school for children and youth” founded in 1996 located in Ocala serving more than 300 students from pre-K to 12th grade.

Officials said other activity on Deptuat’s social media accounts was cause for alarm. On March 9, 2025, she wrote another post stating, “I get off to daydreams to mass murder.” The post was reshared on her profile about 16 hours before her comments about “shooting” up the school. Another post stated she was living with her mother in Ocala.

Officers dispatched to Meadowbrook’s campus to ensure the safety of staff and students.

OPD sent a request to Meta for her subscriber information, which confirmed the account was registered to Deputat. They also received latitude and longitude information regarding her last known location for the device she was using. Lastly, they confirmed she was living with her mother due to a June 2025 arrest, when she was arrested for domestic battery with a deadly weapon, according to the affidavit.

Officials identified Deputat drove a gray Jeep, which established she had the means to carry out her written threat.

Authorities established probable cause to charge her with a written threat to conduct a mass shooting. Since the threat interrupted school operations, they also charged her with disrupting an educational institution’s function.
