Alec Baldwin would rather face "bears and wolves" trying to eat him than put his children to bed.
The 68-year-old star - who has Ireland, 30, with ex-wife Kim Basinger and Carmen, 12, Rafael, 10, Leonardo, nine, Romeo, eight, Eduardo, five, Maria Lucia, also five, and three-year-old Ilaria with spouse Hilaria - admitted the evening routine in his household can be very hectic while being grilled by one of his kids.
Speaking to daughter Carmen for Extra, he laughed when she asked him which was the most difficult out of "navigating Hollywood or getting seven kids to go to bed": "I'd rather be on a frozen mountain in Alaska filming an adventure movie where bears and wolves and condors are trying to eat me then put kids to bed."
The Working Girl actor can find it "difficult" to set a good example to his children.
Asked the most difficult thing about being a dad, he said: "I'm sorry, in this house there is one answer to that question, ahem… The most difficult thing is to set an example. You make mistakes. You do something wrong. Some unfortunate words come out of your mouth.
" I say some things and [I] know [I] have to be more patient."
With Father's Day approaching this weekend, Alec joked he'd like nothing more than to spend it alone.
Asked by Carmen to "describe your perfect Father's Day", he said: "I get on a private plane by myself. I fly to the Caribbean. I get off the plane. I have a fabulous meal and have a massage and go to bed."
His daughter replied: "What about me?"
Alec teased: "Oh, you said Father's Day! I love my kids. I love my kids."
And when he chose "love" as his ideal gift, Carmen pushed the 30 Rock star to name "something real".
He replied: "I have all the T-shirts I need, all the underwear I need. I'd love your mother to make me the cake I like… the coffee cake I like… I love your mother's cake with coffee."
When it comes to gathering his brood together for a family movie night, Alec knows which of his films he'd choose.
He said: "Beetlejuice… and Boss Baby of course, which is the greatest movie ever made in history... It's tied with The Godfather."
Despite his jokes, Alec loves his huge brood.
He said: "I am an older dad, which I never dreamed I'd be where I am now… Never!...
"I think the greatest thing is love. It's an ocean of love and I'm floating on an ocean of love every day."
