'ELLA MCCAY'

Rated PG-13 for strong language, some sexual material and drug content.

What it’s about: A young female politician navigates the demands of her new job as governor, her chaotic family life and her desire to make change in the world.

The kid attractor factor: This is an adult dramedy, not much appeal for kids.

Good lessons/bad lessons: Sometimes public office is not the best place to make a change.

Violence: None

Language: Some swearing.

Sex: References to sex and a sex scandal.

Drugs: Accidental marijuana consumption.

Parents’ advisory: Fine for older kids and teens, but unlikely they will be interested.

'DUST BUNNY'

Rated R for some violence.

What it’s about: A young girl hires an assassin to kill the monster under her bed.

The kid attractor factor: While this fantastical world about monsters under the bed featuring a young female heroine seems like a kid-friendly movie, it's too violent and scary for younger audiences.

Good lessons/bad lessons: We all have monsters that we have to learn to live with.

Violence: Some scary and violent scenes featuring a monster eating humans, and assassins killing each other and fighting with guns and knives.

Language: None

Sex: None

Drugs: None

Parents’ advisory: Too violent for kids. OK for teens.
