'REMINDERS OF HIM'

Rated PG-13 for sexual content, strong language, drug content, some violent content, and brief partial nudity.

What it’s about: A young woman, fresh out of prison, tries to start a new life with the hopes of meeting her young daughter.

The kid attractor factor: This is an adult romantic melodrama, not much appeal for kids.

Good lessons/bad lessons: No one is beyond redemption if the truth can come out.

Violence: A fatal car accident with some bloody images.

Language: Some swearing.

Sex: A couple of sex scenes, one scene of some nudity.

Drugs: Onscreen marijuana use.

Parents’ advisory: Fine for teens but too mature for kids.

'UNDERTONE'

Rated R for language.

What it’s about: A woman who is stuck in her house with her dying mother records a spooky podcast and is seemingly haunted by what she hears.

The kid attractor factor: This is a horror film — not much appeal for kids.

Good lessons/bad lessons: Beware what you let in.

Violence: Some scary moments and images but nothing overtly violent.

Language: Swearing

Sex: References to sex.

Drugs: Drinking

Parents’ advisory: While what actually happens isn't too extreme, this is one of the scariest movies so far this year. OK for teens, but too much for kids.
