Eminem paid for Kurupt's rehab after the rapper battled a life-threatening alcohol addiction.

The 53-year-old star - real name Ricardo Brown - suffered multiple seizures and spent three weeks in a coma due to alcohol addiction, and he credits fellow rappers Eminem, 53, and Dr. Dre, 61, for helping him get sober and turning his life around.

Appearing on SiriusXM's Sway in the Morning, Kurupt remembered: "It was Dr. Dre that called and was just giving his support and just let me know that, you know, we all go through these things. He was just giving me that game.

"And it was Em who came to the table like, 'I'm gonna put Kurupt with my folks, and I'm going to put some money into getting him into like, a rehab situation to where he can sit down and enjoy [himself] and be out the way. Nobody will know he's there.'"

The We Can Freak It hitmaker added: "You know, these things cost bread, so Em put the cheese up for it and said, 'Tell Kurupt I love him.'

"Dr. Dre relayed the message, and then he put me with Em's folks."

Kurupt will never forget Dr. Dre - real name Andre Young - and Eminem's act of kindness as they helped him through his battle with alcohol addiction.

He said: "So, you know, that was real special to me. I appreciate both of them so much. And it's like, damn, you know? He just came out the blue from nowhere. Like, 'OK, Kurupt going through that? Bam. Boom. I'ma do that for him, man. Tell Kurupt get well, we love him.'

"That's deep.'"

In August 2025, Eminem - real name Marshall Mathers III - said he feared he might die amid his struggles with addiction.

The Lose Yourself artist became addicted to prescription pills amid his sudden rise to stardom in the early 2000s.

He said in his Stans documentary: "I got into this vicious cycle of, 'I'm depressed so I need more pills,' and then your tolerance gets so high that you end up overdosing.

"I woke up in the hospital, and I didn't know what happened. I woke up in the hospital with tubes in me and s*** and I couldn't get up, I wanted to move.

"After the overdose, I came home like I needed something … like, I'm gonna die if I don't do anything."
