“Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch” star Duane Ollinger has died at 68 after battling ALS.

The Texas oilman and reality TV personality’s life of adventure came to an end Tuesday in a Texas hospital, according to TMZ.

Questions about Ollinger’s health surfaced last year when fans took to the internet saying he appeared unwell. “Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch” began its sixth season in May with treasure hunter Josh Feldman at the helm.

The show premiered in 2021 with Ollinger and his son Chad searching their 160-acre eastern Utah property for lost Aztec gold they believe to have been buried underground. Complicating matters are long-running rumors that the land is haunted. Ollinger was known to indulge fans with tales of unusual encounters with possible paranormal connection.

“We never had a clue what we were going to run into as far as the wild stuff, I mean didn’t have a clue,” he said in a 2022 interview about unidentified flying objects over Utah. “Yeah, you know, “I’ve seen a lot of stuff up there after the fact.”

Ollinger made his fortune as a high-risk oil contractor in Amarillo, Texas, according to his Discovery Channel biography page. He used those resources to purchase mining equipment and property in Utah’s Uinta Mountains after hearing tales of buried treasure.

Chad Ollinger is incarcerated in Las Vegas jail after being charged with evading arrest in Texas in November 2024.

He was rebooked on Dec. 26 when his cellmate died from apparent blunt force trauma inside the Clark County Detention Center following an altercation, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
