Shakira contemplates her year in emotional Instagram post

MIAMI — That’s a wrap, sort of.
Shakira just concluded the last three concerts of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour of 2025, in her adopted hometown. The Colombian pop star kicked things off almost a year ago on Feb. 11, 2025, in Brazil.
On Monday, she wrote on Instagram how happy she was to finally get to sleep in her own bed. The special “Up Close and Personal” shows were at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, about 45 minutes from her Miami Beach mansion. She’ll get back on the road soon enough, with the tour concluding at the end of February in Mexico.
In a follow-up post, Shakira added more highlights from the highly successful tour that took her to stadiums all over North and South America, selling more than 2.5 million tickets.
One clip in the carousel sees her two young sons flanking her on stage in mid-December in Buenos Aires. Both Sasha, 10, and Milan, 12, impressively took turns helping her sing “Acrostico,” an ode to motherhood.
“Throughout this year, I’ve learned that it’s better to pursue peace than obsessively pursue happiness. It’s better to thank life for what little or much we have, than complain about what we lack,” the 48-year-old contemplated in the caption. “I have found that looking inward is more important than looking in a mirror, and that only by accepting ourselves do we teach others to do so.” Something else the hitmaker learned? How to be alone and just chill:
“I also learned to breathe,” continued the post, “and I found within myself the best shelter, where I can now rest from the external noise.”
Though her famous ex, soccer player Gerard Pique, was not mentioned, Shakira alluded to the pain he caused with his alleged affair with his current girlfriend, Clara Chia Martí.
“I tried to thank even those who have hurt me, because they too have been true teachers,” she wrote. “I understood that sadness and joy are not only beautiful, but also necessary, two wise and inseparable sisters living under one roof.”
Shakira concludes by telling fans her wishes going forward are spiritual, not material.
“May the new year find us being kind to ourselves, accepting ourselves unconditionally, and congratulating ourselves on our small achievements, for they alone make us truly great.”
