Andrew Garfield admits suffering 'rough' burnout amid sleepless nights

Andrew Garfield has revealed he suffered burnout after filming three projects back to back - admitting he struggled with sleepless nights while working in Berlin.
The 43-year-old actor, best known for playing Spider-Man and his Oscar-nominated performances in Hacksaw Ridge and Tick, Tick... Boom!, discussed his exhaustion and uncertainty about the world in a new interview with GQ while appearing on the magazine's November cover, posing shirtless against the New York skyline after completing work on Artificial, The Uprising and Wild Things: Siegfried and Roy.
Speaking about the demands of his recent filming schedule, Andrew told the magazine: "I did these three things back to back last year, and I did have a bit of burnout, to be honest. I was kind of sleepless in Berlin for a while, and not in a romantic way."
He added: "It was rough, dude. I should have just gone to Berghain and just rode it out."
Berghain is a nightclub in the German capital, known internationally for its electronic music and lengthy opening hours.
Andrew also discussed what he described as a difficult period in his personal life and wider society, suggesting uncertainty about the future had contributed to his feelings.
He said: "It's hard to find our own center within that lack-of-center in the world. A lot of people my age who I speak to are feeling a similar sense of a kind of falling apart, which feels right, because as a thing falls apart, the seeds of the future put back together start to get planted."
The actor continued: "Something else being born. I don't mean to be glib, I don't mean to be evasive, because I do like talking. I remember being a young person and wanting people I saw on magazine covers to say something real. So I feel a responsibility to that young person that is out there as well."
Andrew accompanied the interview with a fashion photoshoot featuring several different looks.
For the cover, he wore white linen shorts and trainers while skipping with a rope against the New York skyline.
Other photographs showed him wearing a black PVC trench coat and holding a Dobermann on a lead.
The actor also appeared clean-shaven, having previously attended public events with longer hair and a beard.
The interview follows Andrew's recent comments about wanting to become a father, having spoken publicly about his hopes of starting a family.
During an appearance on the SmartLess podcast, recorded before his 43rd birthday, the actor discussed his feelings about not yet having children.
He said: "I'm 42 and I'm childless and I'm not entirely proud of that."
Andrew added: "Like, I would love I would love to have kids. I would love to start a family."
His comments came while discussing his role in The Magic Faraway Tree, the family fantasy film based on the children's books by Enid Blyton.
The film explores the importance of family relationships, imagination and spending time away from screens.
Andrew said: "It's not anti-technology, but there's a kind of like a kind of an awareness around how technology may or may not be um screwing things up for us. And it's just lovely. And I I have nephews and I have godkids."
He continued: "It's about, you know, getting kids back in touch with themselves, with each other, with nature, with their own nature, with the family unit, with community."
