Tate McRae has hailed Megan Moroney for working out "how to turn terrible men into extremely successful songs".

The 23-year-old pop star has heaped praise on Megan, observing that the country music singer has a "rare" talent for songwriting.

Tate told TIME: "Megan Moroney has somehow figured out how to turn terrible men into extremely successful songs, which is both a talent and an incredible public service.

"I've gotten to sing onstage with Megan a couple of times, and to spend some time with her in Nashville after the shows--which gives me the credentials to confirm for everyone: she is exactly what you wish and hope her to be. She is genuinely so kind, smart, and witty--as just one night out with her will make clear.

"But what I love most about Megan is how purely herself she is. Throughout her latest album, she tells stories that are incredibly specific and personal, and somehow make millions of people swear she wrote them about their lives. That kind of song-writing is rare, and watching her connect with people through it is really special."

Tate believes Megan is deserving of every bit of success she's achieved.

The Greedy hitmaker said: "There is no one more deserving of all the success she is having right now."

Megan previously claimed that her song-writing is "painfully honest".

The singer has enjoyed a meteoric rise since releasing her debut album, Lucky, in 2023, and Megan believes her popularity stems from the honesty of her song-writing.

Speaking to People, she explained: "There's definitely strength in being painfully honest, even if it's hard to talk about whatever it is. And I feel like I've got a fan base of younger girls that really look up to me. So if I can be the one that tells them it's going to be okay, or I once felt this way and now I don't - I think it's brave, and I don't feel weaker for it."
