Actress Sophia Bush and soccer star Ashlyn Harris were secretly married last year, the “One Tree Hill” alum reveals in an upcoming memoir.

The private ceremony in upstate New York in summer 2025 was just this side of an elopement, with Harris’s children, Sloan and Ocean, the main attendees, Vogue reported, citing “And I Will Tell You Mine: Notes from a Life in Progress,” due out Oct. 27. Harris shares the two children with former wife Ali Krieger.

The newlyweds, first linked in 2023, officially came out via a 2024 Glamour article.

They’ve spent the past year visiting family and friends across the country to deliver their happy news in person, the couple told Vogue in an interview. The low-key ceremony featured flowers they picked themselves, and their wedding night saw everyone roasting marshmallows.

“The kids were just running and happy,” Harris told Vogue. “It was so fun for them, because it wasn’t this pressure-filled day that’s too much for young kids.”

This is Bush’s third marriage. From 2005 to 2006 she was married to Chad Michael Murray, and to Grant Hughes from 2022 to 2024. This time was different, Bush realized when a friend asked her how she could trust trying it again.

It hit her “that if in ten years she and I grew into different people and didn’t want to be together, I would rather get divorced all over again—and do it with the love and tenderness I’d always thought was the goal in the first place — than miss my chance at being married to her at all,” Bush wrote of her wife. “I felt it in my bones.”
