Disney's latest live-action remake of an animated hit tops the DVD releases for the week of Oct. 6.

"Moana": The young princess Moana (Catherine Laga'aia) is chosen by the ocean to return the heart of Te Fiti in order to save her island, teaming up with the demigod Maui (Dwayne Johsnon) in the process.

"Is a live-action remake of 'Moana' necessary, only 10 years after the original animated film premiered? The answer, decidedly, is no, but then again, none of the Disney live-action remakes have been necessary, so that’s where we’re starting from," writes Tribune News Service critic Katie Walsh in her review. "That’s not to say that there aren’t fun aspects to watching 'Moana' again, just slightly different."

"Chicago Fire: Season Fourteen," "Chicago Med: Season Eleven" and "Chicago PD: Season Thirteen": Catch up on the prior season of NBC's One Chicago procedurals as they return for the fall 2026 TV season.

"Spider-Man: Brand New Day": Tom Holland's Peter Parker is all grown up and attempting to navigate adult life and the Spider-Man life with very few friends.

"Insidious: Out of the Further": Starring Amelia Eve, this entry is the sequel to 2023’s “Insidious: The Red Door” and the sixth movie in the series that dates back to 2010’s “Insidious.”

"Fall 2: Deadpoint": Harriet Slater stars as a woman attempting a daring plank walk to honor her late sister the sequel to 2022's "Fall."

"Onslaught": A trio of scientifically engineered supersoldiers wreak havoc on a desert trailer park, whose residents fight back.
