Priyanka Chopra loves that Nick Jonas has embraced her Indian heritage.

The 44-year-old actress enjoyed huge success in Bollywood before making the move to the US, and Priyanka has praised Nick for embracing her familial heritage.

Asked about Nick's respect for her Indian culture and traditions, Priyanka told E! News: "I don't know if I'd love him if he didn't.

"That is a big part of any story or any relationship that is multicultural. I think it's really important to have a sense of respect for your partner's roots."

The loved-up couple tied the knot in 2018, and they have a four-year-old daughter, called Malti, together.

The actress praised Nick for helping to maintain the spark in their romance.

She said: "Being kind to your partner. That's something that's really important."

Priyanka served as an executive producer on Cycle of Love, an upcoming documentary that tells the story of P. K. Mahanandia and Lotta Von Schedvin.

P. K. travelled across multiple countries on a bicycle to meet the Swede because he believed he was destined to marry her.

Reflecting on the project, Priyanka said: "Now they've been married for 50 years, and their kids are producing this movie with me.

"Everything about it is so heartwarming, and just makes me feel like, in this crazy world right now, it's this ray of sunshine."

Meanwhile, Priyanka previously claimed that the Indian film industry is more "languid" than Hollywood.

The actress -- who has worked extensively in both Bollywood and Hollywood -- opened up about the key differences between the two industries, revealing that the pace of production varies significantly on either side of the world.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Priyanka explained: "In America, we are very specific about when we shoot what and how. You have to make the day on most productions, and you have a shot breakdown of how many shots you have to take. So there's a lot more stress in making sure that you make the day.

"On Indian films, it's a little bit more languid. If we don't make the day, it's fine. We'll get it tomorrow. We'll also shoot one set piece, and then we'll take a break for 10 or 20 days. Then we'll come back for the next set piece, and that is why we can do multiple movies at the same time.

"In Hollywood, you take three months to shoot everything together. I don't know how it logistically makes sense, but it works. Both industries have their own ways that work."
