Frankie Grande has his sister Ariana Grande's back as she decides to step back from public life after her Eternal Sunshine Tour concludes.

The 43-year-old actor shared a sweet message for the 33-year-old singer the night after she wrapped the US leg of her tour at the United Center in Chicago on Thursday (06.08.26), ahead of the final dates at London's The O2 arena from August 15 to September 1.

Frankie posted footage from her last North American show on Instagram, with the caption: "Family forever. I will have your back until the end of time. I am so proud of you and so happy for you.

"Last night was a beautiful celebration of your artistry and the magnificent eternal sunshine family you have built and created.

"It was a magical night. You are magical. You are my everything and I am so so happy I was there to see you shine on this tour one last time."

Ariana paused her concert at the United Center on Monday night (03.08.26) to tell the audience her decision to step back from public life after her Eternal Sunshine Tour was made "a long time ago", not in response to online discussion over her appearance.

During a four-minute speech, the 7 Rings hitmaker said: "Can we get a little real tonight?"

She continued: "The announcement that was made yesterday was not a reactive or impulsive thing.

"It is something that I had decided to plan. It was a thoughtful decision. It was an empowering decision. I made it quietly, a long time ago."

Ariana also dismissed claims that criticism on social media about her body had forced her into taking a break.

The God Is a Woman artist said: "No matter what noises exist out there, nothing will be able to distort my reality or be more real to me… as this love that we share."

Ariana then described the tour as "one of the most healing, beautiful, correct and special experiences" she has ever had.

Before returning to the performance, the Thank U star told the audience: "That felt good. I wish that words were enough to articulate how much I love you."

Ariana and Frankie's 69-year-old mom, Joan Grande, supported the three-time Grammy winner after her daughter shared a series of behind-the-scenes photographs from the filming of her Petal music video on Instagram, days after the release of her new album of the same name.

Joan said in response to Ariana's clip: "You are magnificent… and this video is incredible!!

"I love it, and I love you more!!! (sic)"

Ariana captioned the post with a lyric from the title track of Petal.

She wrote: "Petal in the pavement …… (sic)."

The upload featured a collection of photographs from the music video, including images of Ariana wearing a cow-print dress and heels, an off-the-shoulder black outfit and another costume covered in fake blood.

The release of the video prompted renewed discussion on social media about her appearance.

A source told Page Six that the chart-topper had been "overworked", while another suggested the "nonstop public scrutiny" surrounding her appearance had been more significant than her workload.

On August 2, Ariana's spokesperson confirmed her break from public life.

They told People: "Ariana will be taking a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine Tour.

"She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny.

"This tour has been a beautiful experience for her. She loves her fans and has loved every minute of this tour so much."

A source close to the We Can't Be Friends (Wait for Your Love) singer added: "She performs a very physical show, and there is a lot of athleticism involved. She performs healthily and successfully at a very high level night after night."

Empire Street Productions, the producers of Sunday in the Park with George, confirmed that Ariana has pulled out from the London production next summer, in which she had been expected to appear opposite her 38-year-old Wicked co-star Jonathan Bailey.

They said in a statement: "Following this evening's announcement from Ariana Grande's team, Empire Street Productions can confirm that she has decided to step back from Sunday in the Park with George.

"We know this cannot have been an easy decision, and she makes it with our complete understanding and support.

"We wish her nothing but the best.

"The production will open at the Barbican in summer 2027 as planned, and casting will be announced in due course."

The source added to People that she "cannot wait to support the brilliant team bringing this project to life".

Ariana has repeatedly addressed public discussion surrounding her appearance since 2023.

In her 2024 single Yes, And?, from the album Eternal Sunshine, she sang: "My face is sitting, I don't need no disguise / Don't comment on my body, do not reply / Your business is yours, and mine is mine."

Ariana has previously said changes to her appearance reflected healthier personal choices, including following a vegan diet and giving up alcohol.
