Matty Healy and Gabbriette Bechtel's wedding will be "far glitzier" than expected.

The 1975 frontman will tie the knot with US model Bechtel in Los Angeles this weekend and, while the venue is being kept under wraps, the couple previously told friends they were looking at both Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood and Madonna's home as potential venues.

A source told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: "Matty and Gabbriette's wedding is going to be far glitzier than fans probably expected.

It's bigger than they were first planning but they've been trying to keep details under wraps."

Celebrity guests set to attending include Charli XCX, Nick Grimshaw and Healy's The 1975 bandmates.

Matty's parents, actors Denise Welch and Tim Healy, flew to Los Angeles last week for the pre-wedding celebrations.

The wedding comes just two weeks after Matty's former girlfriend Taylor Swift tied the knot with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in New York.

Matty and Taylor enjoyed a brief romance in 2023, following her split from actor Joe Alwyn.

However, the relationship did not last and both got together with their respective partners just months later.

Matty proposed to Gabbriette in June 2024, while Travis popped the question to Taylor in August 2025.

Taylor previously claimed her Eras Tour "gave [her] purpose" amid turbulence in her personal life, as she went through two break-ups - Joe Alwyn and Matty Healy - in the first half of her record-breaking tour.

The chart-topping singer said in her Disney docuseries The End of Era: "There were points in this tour where the tour was really the only thing keeping me going in my life. But there were never points in the tour where I thought, 'Oh I want to quit the tour because the tour is hard.' No, my personal life was hard."

Taylor found that the tour gave her a sense of "purpose" amid her personal struggles.

She explained: "I went through two breakups on the first half of this tour.

"That's a lot of breakups, actually. This show is what gave me purpose and what I could use to get me out of bed. The tour has never been the hard thing in my life. The tour has been the thing that allowed me to find purpose outside of the s*** that was going on in my life."

It has previously been claimed that Healy was so serious about Taylor that he had high hopes for their future together.

Taylor's Tortured Poet's Department album is reportedly about her short-lived romance with Healy and when asked about it on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Healy's mother Denise Welch declared that "not being her mother-in-law is a role that I am glad that I lost".

She added that she doesn't "have anything against [Swift] at all," and called the situation "tricky."

A source told Us Weekly at the time: "It's a horrible thing to have the most famous person in the world saying that your son broke her heart when it was the other way around, and then you can't even defend yourself.

"She's saying the mother-in-law stuff because that's where Matty thought it was headed. She's entitled to her opinion."
