CNN's Abby Phillip pregnant with 2nd child

CNN anchor Abby Phillip is pregnant with her second child.
“Here he comes!” the 37-year-old reporter posted on Instagram. “We are so excited to announce that Baby boy Richardson will be joining our family soon.”
Phillip and her husband Marcus Richardson are parents to a 4-year-old daughter named Naomi. The cable news political correspondent credited in vitro fertilization (IVF) for making her pregnancy a reality.
“It can be so hard when so want something so much— but you want it on your schedule,” she wrote.
Phillip added that she has faith that the timing of her second pregnancy was meant to be be and called it an answer to her family’s prayers.
“Every chapter in this motherhood journey has taught me that I can do so much more than I ever imagined— this one is no exception,” she concluded.
Phillip’s first pregnancy came while she was covering the tumultuous aftermath of the 2020 presidential election. She described that point in her life as very difficult in a 2021 interview with People.
“Working with the intensity that I did post-election while carrying a child was the hardest thing I’ve ever done,” Phillip confessed.
She’s been hosting the nightly round-table discussion program “NewsNight with Abby Phillip” since October 2023.
Hello! that the Harvard University graduate and her husband married in 2018 and moved from Washington, D.C. to New York City in 2023. Richardson works in cybersecurity.
