Hulk Hogan helped secure Donald Trump interview for upcoming Netflix documentary

Hulk Hogan helped secure an interview with Donald Trump for an upcoming Netflix documentary shortly before his death, according to the film's director.
The wrestler, who died aged 71 on 24 July, 2025, had been working with director Bryan Storkel on the four-part series Hulk Hogan: Real American, set to be released on Netflix next week.
The documentary charts Hogan's life and career, and includes a previously unannounced interview with Donald Trump, 79, filmed at the White House earlier this year.
Storkel told TMZ Sports Hogan played a direct role in arranging the meeting, by contacting the US president personally to secure his participation.
Bryan said: "There's a nice little surprise interview with Donald Trump, which (Hulk) helped me set up. We went to the White House and interviewed Trump and he talked all about Hulk Hogan."
He added the process required persistence, explaining it took a few calls for Hulk to convince the president to do the interview, before Trump eventually came around and agreed to sit down for a chat.
Bryan said Hogan had initially planned to attend the interview but was unable to do so due to a medical procedure.
He added: "Hulk was supposed to go with us, but he ended up going in for a surgery right before that."
Bryan travelled to Washington without him and described speaking to Hogan shortly before meeting Trump.
He said: "I'm there on the phone with Hulk Hogan outside the Oval Office, and he was so excited we got the interview. That's the last phone call I had with him, actually."
Hogan and Trump had a long-standing relationship dating back to the 1980s, which was renewed in recent years.
Hogan had publicly supported Trump and became a political ally in the later years of his life.
The documentary is expected to explore Hogan's wrestling career and public persona, alongside his personal relationships and influence beyond sport.
Hogan became one of professional wrestling's biggest global stars, helping transform WWE into mainstream entertainment in the 1980s.
Known for his charisma and "Hulkamania" persona, Hogan headlined major events, crossed into film and television, and remained an enduring cultural figure for decades.
