Carmen Electra has shared her excitement over Brooks Nader stepping into the Baywatch universe, giving the model her full support as the franchise prepares for its long‑awaited return.

Fox confirmed earlier this month that Brooks, 29, has joined the cast of the network's upcoming Baywatch sequel series, set to premiere during the 2026-2027 season.

Carmen, who became a global pop‑culture icon as lifeguard Lani McKenzie in the original series, was asked whether she believes Brooks will fit naturally into the world of Baywatch, and didn't hesitate.

She told People: "I do. Absolutely. Yeah."

Brooks will play Selene, the sharp‑tongued captain of the Zuma Beach lifeguards.

According to the official character description, Selene is exceptional at her job but constantly clashes with Hobie over their very different approaches to saving lives. Their long‑running rivalry only intensifies once Charlie joins the team, hinting at deeper tensions beneath the surface.

Carmen also praised the return of original cast member David Chokachi, calling his casting "well‑deserved."

The 58-year-old star will reprise his role as Cody Madison from the original 1989-2001 run.

The reboot centres on a grown‑up Hobie Buchannon -- now played by Stephen Amell -- who has followed in the footsteps of his legendary father Mitch (David Hasselhoff) to become Baywatch captain. His life is thrown into chaos when Charlie, the daughter he never knew existed, arrives determined to carry on the Buchannon legacy.

Brooks celebrated her casting by reposting a photo of herself in a Baywatch‑inspired red one‑piece from her 2023 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover shoot, writing: "I've been manifesting this for a minute @si_swimsuit." She joins a star‑studded ensemble that includes Jessica Belkin, Hassie Harrison, Thaddeus LaGrone, Shay Mitchell, Noah Beck and Livvy Dunne.

Fox first announced the revival in September 2025, promising the same high‑stakes rescues, sun‑drenched drama and tangled relationships that defined the original series -- now updated with a new cast, modern storylines and a renewed mission to protect Southern California's shoreline.

Carmen has previously said she's open to returning, revealing last year that she had been "talking to" the reboot's creative team.

She joked that while she's not sure she wants to get back in the water, she's more than ready to recreate the show's iconic slow‑motion run.

She said: "I still look really good in that suit, so that is not a problem."
