Sound Advice: Soundbar specials and an air duster extraordinaire

This week I have two excellent home audio deals and more on the Wolfbox blower/dusters, one of the most popular products I covered this year.

Soundbar specials: The ZVOX AV855 was a huge hit for its hi-fi sound and AccuVoice dialogue enhancement, which makes voices easier to hear and understand. The AV855 was later joined by the AV835, a compact version that is perfect for smaller televisions and smaller spaces. The $369.99 AV855 is on sale for $329.99, and using the code Z50 at checkout on zvox.com saves $50, reducing it to $279.99. The $269.99 AV835 is on sale for $229.99 and is only $179.99 with the Z50 code.

JBL MA310 home theater receiver for only $219.95: If you want to build a home theater surround sound system or even just a two-channel stereo, this 5.2-channel home theater receiver gets outstanding owner reviews and was popular at the regular $439.95 price. It looks and sounds great, at $219.95 it's a steal and no coupon code is required to get the deal. The JBL MA310 is available at Best Buy and online. I'll look for some deals on speakers to accompany the receiver and follow up soon.

Q. I love my Wolfbox MF50 blower/duster and use it every day. There is now a bigger and improved version, the MF200. Do you think it is worth the upgrade? I can probably find use for an additional blower.

—T.B., Beaver, Pennsylvania

A. For those who missed it, the Wolfbox MF50 is a blower/duster with three settings that is so powerful it is like a handheld miniature leaf blower. The Wolfbox MF200 Compressed Air Duster is slightly larger but even more powerful with its larger, higher speed fan. If you want to use your blower to clear snow or leaves off your car it will do a significantly better job and is noticeably more effective outdoors, for loosening stuck-on debris, and for drying CPAP hoses. I use it to dry my super-sharp Japanese cooking knives or blow water off of wet plastic coming right out of the dishwasher, and the extra power of the MF200 finishes the job fast.

I have found the weak spot of the MF50 to be the battery life. One moment you are blasting away, the next moment it is dead and lights are blinking, asking for a recharge. Not only does the MF200 have longer battery life, it uses swappable lithium-ion battery packs just like larger cordless tools systems. These system batteries often cost significantly more than the tools themselves, so I was delighted to see the Wolfbox battery packs are only $20. This makes the feature genuinely useful and something owners are likely to take advantage of. With the MF200 you are unlikely to ever run out of power, especially if you have an extra battery. The batteries charge via a simple USB-C connection and do not require a fancy charger.

Having such a compact and powerful tool has proven to be life-changing. Other reported uses include drying your face after working outdoors, clearing crevices and corners in the kitchen and around the home, cleaning computer keyboards, fanning the flames of a charcoal grill or campfire, blowing out electric razors, cleaning sliding glass door tracks, corralling debris after woodworking and sewing, and clearing crumbs and coffee grinds from kitchen countertops. It is my most-used tool and having experienced the usefulness and versatility, I can't imagine going without.

The $129.99 Wolfbox MF200 currently sells on Amazon for $99.99 and includes one battery. The current coupon code AIRBLOWER at checkout reduces it $31 to $68.99. And yes, it makes a great gift!
