What it’s about: In this love letter to Hollywood, we learn about a trio of filmmaking Minions who gatecrash the studio system of the 1920s, strike out on their own to make an independent monster movie and have to save the world from what they unleash.
The kid attractor factor: The Minions characters, animation and silly humor.
Good lessons/bad lessons: Be careful what you release when you open Pandora's box. It can be hard to put back in the bottle.
Violence: Some harrowing action sequences and monster threats to eat Minions.
Language: No swearing but some typical toilet humor.

'YOUNG WASHINGTON'
Rated PG-13 for sequences of strong war violence and some bloody images.
What it’s about: Depicts the early days of the French and Indian War in which a young upstart George Washington gets his start in the art of war.
The kid attractor factor: This is aimed more at an adult audience but could be interesting for younger kids who like history.
Good lessons/bad lessons: Follow your path, find a way to do the work that you need to do despite systems and what others think of you.
Violence: Some violent battle scenes but not too heavy on the gore.
Language: None
Sex: None
Drugs: None
Parents’ advisory: Essentially fine for a middle school level and up.
