MINNEAPOLIS — With two members already on the mend and off the tour, the popular K-pop girl-group Katseye postponed its concert Saturday at Target Center in Minneapolis due to yet another member’s illness.

A makeup date for the nearly sold-out concert has not yet been set. Ticketholders are being told to hang onto their tickets, which will be honored at the rescheduled date. Refunds are also being offered.

At least Twin Cities fans had two day’s notice on the postponement. Concertgoers in Detroit were already in the arena on Wednesday night when the performance was called off just 30 minutes before showtime, setting off a burst of tears inside the venue and a wave of complaints from parents who had already spent money on hotels, parking and other related expenses.

The group apologized to fans in a statement via social media, citing an unspecified ailment of one of its principle singers, Megan Skiendiel. Target Center’s announcement also cited Skiendiel’s illness as the reason for the Minneapolis postponement.

“Unfortunately, Megan is unwell and unable to perform tonight, and we want to make sure she has the time she needs to rest and recover,” Katseye’s Instagram post read after the Detroit delay.

Skiendiel suffered a sprained ankle in August that forced the group to drop out of its set at Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chains Field Festival in Los Angeles. However, Katseye has performed many shows since then. Two other members of the internationally rooted sextet, Sophia Laforteza and Mannon Bannerman, have been on hiatus for most of the year, also for unspecified medical reasons.

Katseye was put together by U.S. record label Geffen Records and South Korean K-pop entertainment company Hybe in 2023. Its concerts consist of nonstop, high-energy dance routines.

Even with some extra notice, Minnesota fans also voiced their displeasure over the postponement of Saturday’s show.

“I’m out money for this hotel now,” one fan wrote under Target Center’s Instagram announcement. “Anyone gonna offer refunds for that??????”

Another comment on the post from a mom read, “[I] have to prepare myself to break my daughter’s heart.”
