NEW YORK — Original “NCIS” cast members Mark Harmon and Michael Weatherly will reunite onscreen for the first time in 10 years in the franchise’s “NCIS: Origins” prequel.

By now, Weatherly’s Anthony DiNozzo is NCIS director during Season 24, which debuted earlier this month. Harmon is in a full “Origins” Season 3 arc as present-day Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, having been pulled out of his Alaska retirement to address issues from his past. In the upcoming “Origins” episode, airing next Tuesday, Gibbs shows up at NCIS HQ seeking DiNozzo’s help finding the gunmen who shot him in the season’s premiere episode.

The two actors last appeared together in the “NCIS” Season 13 finale, when Weatherly left the series. The actor went on to helm “Bull” from 2016-2022, then returned to the “NCIS” fold in a 2024 episode of “NCIS: Origins.” In 2025 he co-starred in the 10-episode “NCIS: Tony & Ziva,” with Cote de Pablo reprising her former Ziva David role.

Harmon stayed on through 2021, leaving “NCIS” after the 18th season.

While each has had cameos in the occasional crossover, flashback or tribute episodes, they have not shared screen time.
