Kim Kardashian's daughter North West, 13, hits back at 'demonic' accusations

Kim Kardashian's eldest daughter North West has defended her unconventional fashion choices after being accused of dressing "demonic" - insisting her appearance should not be used to judge her character.
The 13-year-old aspiring rapper, whose parents are reality television star and businesswoman Kim, 45, and musician Kanye West, 49, addressed the criticism during a recent TikTok livestream alongside her mother.
North, who appeared with bright blue hair, has attracted attention for wearing black dental grills, facial piercings and experimental outfits, prompting debate online about her personal style and the boundaries Kim sets for her children.
Responding directly to viewers during the livestream, North said: "Oh no, I'm not demonic, guys. Stop saying I'm demonic. No, I'm not."
She added: "Just because I like to dress this way, don't judge a book by its cover."
Kim suggested some of the accusations were connected to her daughter's preference for dark accessories, including black grills and piercings.
However, North rejected the association between her appearance and the accusations being directed at her.
She said: "But I don't know why you guys should put that with demonic because I don't get that."
Kim, who founded the shapewear company Skims and rose to fame through the reality series Keeping Up with the Kardashians, told her daughter she did not believe critics understood her style.
The television personality said she did not think people "really get it".
North has increasingly experimented with fashion and music while growing up in one of the world's most recognisable celebrity families.
She has appeared in public wearing brightly coloured wigs, temporary facial tattoos, piercings and outfits including corsets and miniskirts.
Her appearance has generated criticism on social media, particularly when she has accompanied Kim to high-profile events and international destinations.
In August 2025, photographs taken during a family holiday in Rome prompted further controversy after North was seen wearing what appeared to be a dermal piercing on the middle finger of one hand.
The images attracted criticism from people questioning whether the teenager should be permitted to experiment with body modifications at her age.
Kim has previously discussed the difficulties of raising children in the public eye, particularly when their clothing choices attract attention beyond that faced by other teenagers.
Speaking on the Call Her Daddy podcast last October, she explained that North was often criticised for wearing styles similar to those chosen by other children.
She said: "It's really hard and it's really interesting because all the kids are wearing the same things."
Kim added: "But then my daughter tries to wear it and then I'm like, 'Okay, we're never wearing that again.' Unfortunately, we made that mistake in front of the whole world."
The reality star has also acknowledged imposing restrictions on her daughter's appearance, including refusing to allow North to have a bridge piercing.
Kim shares four children with Kanye - North, Saint, 10, Chicago, eight, and Psalm, seven.
The former couple married in 2014 and finalised their divorce in 2022, with their children continuing to feature in public discussions surrounding their family.
Kanye, whose albums include The College Dropout, Graduation, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and Donda, has also attracted attention for his own unconventional fashion choices throughout his career.
North has followed her father into music, appearing on his recordings and performing publicly while developing her own creative projects.
She featured on the song Talking / Once Again from Kanye and Ty Dolla Sign's collaborative album Vultures 1, which reached the charts in 2024.
She has also expressed an interest in fashion design and has appeared in musical theatre, performing as Simba during a concert celebrating the 30th anniversary of Disney's The Lion King.
Meanwhile, Kim continues to appear in the family's Hulu reality series The Kardashians, which follows the personal and professional lives of her relatives.
