Pete Davidson found dating Kim Kardashian to be "a little too much".

The 32-year-old actor dated Kim, 45, between October 2021 and August 2022, but he ultimately found it too tough to cope with that level of interest and speculation in his love life.

Pete - who has been candid about his drug use and mental health struggles in the past - told Variety: "Look, man, that's a really tough atmosphere if you're not game. One of the things I love about Kim and that whole family is they're like, 'This is what we do.' I found that very attractive and mature.

"And I was never subjected to anything I didn't want to be a part of. She was super respectful of all of it, but the craze of that lifestyle -- being followed everywhere, having security and looking over your shoulder -- for a guy with mental stuff, and at the time drug problems, was a little too much for me.

"But we're cool, and I have a lot of love for her, and I knew what I was getting into."

Meanwhile, Pete previously revealed that he's found the focus on his personal life to be "traumatic".

The comedian has dated a host of famous women over the years, including Kim, Ariana Grande, Kate Beckinsale, Margaret Qualley, Kaia Gerber, and Phoebe Dynevor - but Pete felt frustrated that people often knew him for his high-profile love life, rather than his comedy talent.

The movie star - who has daughter Scottie, ten months, with ex-partner Elsie Hewitt - said on The Breakfast Club: "It just got to a point where I was ... I got really tired of my whole career just being like my personal life. And living through that is it's sort of traumatic. Like not to be like lame, but like it's traumatic to live in your own crap all the time."

Pete also hated the experience of being sexualised by the public.

The comedy star explained: "I don't want to victimise myself in any way because I'm cool, but the sexualisation of me -- if that was a girl, people would be like, there would be a march for it ... Seriously. You're just talking about my d*** all day."
