NEW YORK — Actor Chad Lowe, the younger brother of fellow actor Rob Lowe, is grieving after the loss of his teen daughter.

The “Pretty Little Liars” alum shared 13-year-old Fiona Helper Lowe with his wife, producer and actress Kim Painter. They confirmed her death in a statement to People on Tuesday night, remembering her as “a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance.”

“We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona,” they said.

“She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents,” the couple continued. “In fact, she was the light of our lives.”

While they did not share a cause of death, their statement goes on to mention mental health and suicide prevention.

“Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time,” they said. “If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, please reach out to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.”

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Fiona died at home on Tuesday, adding that authorities were called to the residence around 12:10 am.

Chad and Painter welcomed Fiona on Nov. 16, 2012. She was the second of the couple’s three daughters, falling between 17-year-old Mabel Painter, and the youngest, 10-year-old Nixie Barbara. The couple married in 2010, three years after Chad’s divorce from Oscar winner Hilary Swank.

Fiona’s death comes just weeks before what would have been her 14th birthday. Last year, the “9-1-1: Lone Star” actor shared a photo of Fiona to his Instagram grid, to mark the start of her teen years.

“Celebrating Fiona officially becoming a teen today!!” he wrote alongside a slew of heart emojis. “Keep dancing through life FiBear! Love you soooo much!!”

The post came months after the Pacific Palisades fire forced the family to flee from their home. In February, Chad revealed they had returned to see what remained, and he praised his children for their strength in such a difficult situation.

“Almost a month after we evacuated our girls finally got to go back to see what’s left of their home,’ he wrote Instagram at the time.

“The way they’ve handled this whole devastating experience is nothing short of remarkable,” he continued. “I am in awe of their spirit and resilience. Helping them navigate these tough times is my sole purpose. Being their dad is my life’s greatest joy and privilege.”
