NEW YORK — Cher’s son Elijah Blue Allman has been indicted on a felony criminal mischief charge months after he was busted for breaking into a New Hampshire home, where he then lounged on the couch and enjoyed a cigarette.

The grand jury determined Allman “purposely damaged the property of (the alleged victim) by breaking a glass window” at the residence in Windham earlier this year, News 9 reported.

Authorities responded to the property the night of March 1, after a woman called 911 while hiding in a closet to report a break-in, police said at the time. When officers arrived on the scene, they found found footprints in the snow leading to the back door, which was surrounded by broken glass.

Police then found Allman, who was inside and smoking on the couch. He apparently gained entry by smashing the glass panel on the back door, claiming he was given permission to do so by the homeowners, both of who denied the claim.They later told authorities nothing was taken from the home, but that the damaged door would likely cost around $1,700 to repair. They also made note of a cigarette burn in a rug worth $1,000.

Allman was taken into custody, marking the second time he was arrested over the course of just a couple days.

On Feb. 27, Allman was booked into the Merrimack County Jail after allegedly causing a disturbance at in the dining hall of St. Paul’s School, a boarding school in Concord. He was charged with two counts of simple assault and one count each of criminal trespass, criminal threatening and disorderly conduct. He was released without posting bail later the same day.

His arraignment for the felony criminal mischief charge has been set for next month. A competency hearing related to the boarding school incident, meanwhile, is slated for later in the fall.
