Aubrey Plaza has given birth to a daughter just a few months after revealing she was expecting a baby with partner and fellow actor Chris Abbott.

The 42-year-old “White Lotus” actress was snapped cradling the newborn as she stepped out on Sunday to catch Abbott’s final “Death of a Salesman” performance at New York City’s Winter Garden Theatre. She had the baby during the last week of July, a source told TMZ.

Plaza’s rep confirmed the pregnancy news back in April and said the baby was due this fall.

“It was a beautiful surprise after an emotional year,” a source told People, coming as it did about a year after Plaza’s estranged husband, Jeff Baena, died by suicide at age 47. “They feel very blessed.”

A dog walker found screenwriter and director Baena dead by hanging in January 2025. It later came out that he and Plaza, who had wed in 2021 after 10 years together, had been separated since September 2024.

Plaza lamented the “unimaginable tragedy” of Baena’s death. She paid subtle tribute to him a month later, sporting a tie-dyed t-shirt during a cameo on the “SNL50: The Anniversary Special” edition of “Saturday Night Live” in a nod to the tie-dyed pajamas they had wed in. Her grief continued to be a “daily struggle,” she said in an August 2025 edition of Amy Poehler’s “Good Hang” podcast.

It was not clear how long Plaza and Abbott had been together when they announced they were expecting, though they were first romantically linked in July 2025.
