QVC host talking about 'blowouts' on air has very racy blooper
Published in Entertainment News
QVC host Toni Brattin suffered an unfortunate slip of the tongue while trying to say “blowouts” during a segment about wigs and hairdos.
“It looks like you went and got a b—job at your … a blowout at your salon,” she said with her back turned toward the camera while modeling a Select Salon Wig.
Brattin immediately realized her flub.
“Oh my god,” she murmured with her back still turned and her microphone continuing to transmit.
Holding back laughter, the embarrassed host continued “… and it looks beautiful.”
Brattin’s co-host Terri Conn did her best to come to the rescue.
“Here’s what’s happening today — we’re having a huge beauty sale,” Conn told viewers as Brattin literally crumbled behind her and dropped to the floor.
Both Conn and Bratton’s employer reacted to the verbal slip in good humor.
“The show must go on,” Conn posted on Instagram alongside video of the incident. “Love you, Toni Brattin!”
QVC said Brattin handled the mistake like a professional.
“Is there an award for Best Live Blooper Recovery?” the company asked on Instagram.
Brattin later told TMZ she simply froze after inadvertently using the explicit term for oral sex and hoped producers would switch to a camera angle that wouldn’t show her fighting back embarrassment.
“Everyone caught it, I was hearing snickering,” she said of the awkward moment. “When you’re not supposed to laugh it just makes it that much more funny.”
Her blunder didn’t go unnoticed. Video of the segment went viral online and was joke about by comedian Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show.”
According to Brattin, she’s been doing live TV for nearly 30 years and mistakes are inevitable.
