Perez Hilton tried to “make amends” with stars like Britney Spears and Khloé Kardashian before he was hospitalized for appearing to self-harm on a livestream this week.

The controversial celebrity blogger, 48, told Fox News and Sean Hannity’s “Hang Out” podcast, that he’s “made amends, or tried to, with a lot of people.” The episode dropped Thursday, but was recorded prior to Hilton’s hospitalization.

“I’ve reached out to them privately. I mean, I even reached out to Britney Spears,” revealed Hilton, who said their intervention went “well, according to the intermediary that relayed what I wrote to her.”

Hilton said that 42-year-old Kardashian “responded back” and “was very kind. Some people don’t respond back, and that’s fine.”

He shared that he also “realized I could still be funny, but I didn’t have to be so cheap, and I didn’t have to be so cruel,” as to make negative comments about celebrities’ bodies or speculate about their sexuality.

“It’s like my scarlet letter, and it’s very heavy baggage,” Hilton said of his past approach to the job.

Hilton on Tuesday appeared to engage in self-harm during a roughly 15-minute TikTok livestream, filmed at his home in South Florida, with Miami-Dade authorities describing the incident as a “possible suicide” attempt.

A statement on Hilton’s website, issued by his family, thanks “everyone who has reached out with prayers, kind messages, and support for Perez,” who they said remains “able to communicate, which has given our family hope.”

“This has been incredibly difficult and emotional for us, made even harder because very little information has been available to our family,” continued the statement. “While we continue to wait for further updates, we remain hopeful. … For now, we’re taking things one step at a time and keeping our focus where it belongs, on Perez and his recovery.”
