NEW YORK — Jon Bon Jovi abruptly ended his concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Thursday night, but he vowed to do everything he could to make it up to fans in attendance.

The “Bad Medicine” singer was about 90 minutes into the eighth of his nine-show residency at the Garden as part of his Forever Tour when he opted to pull the plug, People reported. He finished performing his 1986 hit “Livin’ On a Prayer” alongside Train front man Pat Monahan before revealing to the audience that he’d been struggling throughout the concert and would not be able to continue.

“I’m sorry, I’m hurt and you’re not getting the best of me,” he said in videos shared online.

“Don’t throw away your ticket stubs I’m going to figure something out, OK?” Bon Jovi continued, garnering some applause from the crowd. “Just hang onto it, I’m going to figure out how to reschedule.”

The rocker added: “I’m gonna have to cool it for a night,” but “I’ll see you again soon, bye bye!”

In a subsequent statement, a rep for Bon Jovi said he’d been battling a sinus infection, which simply got the best of him while onstage.

“As part of the Bon Jovi residency at Madison Square Garden, Jon has said numerous times that it has been a joy to return to live shows for the band,” the rep said. “Updated information will be available shortly.”

His sold-out residency at the Garden marks his first at the storied New York City venue since undergoing major vocal chord surgery back in 2022. After the procedure, he told The Sunday Times in 2024 that he would not perform again if he could not do it to his standards.

“If the singing is not great, if I can’t be the guy I once was … then I’m done,” he said.

Bon Jovi is set to perform at MSG again Sunday before heading to the U.K. for another series of concerts.
