Singer Oliver Tree has died in a helicopter crash in Brazil.

The 32-year-old musician, most well known for hits including Life Goes On and Miss You, was one of six people killed in the mid-air collision between two helicopters in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday morning (14.06.26).

YouTuber Gaspi, 23, and Brazilian DJ Lucas Frota also died in the horrific accident.

According to TMZ, Tree, Frota, Gaspi - real name Gaspar Prim - and two others were in one of the helicopters, while one pilot was flying the other.

Police told local media that Tree was on the list of passengers given to aviation authorities, although the bodies are apparently yet to be formally identified.

The Rio de Janeiro Military Fire Department told the Associated Press that after the aircraft collided, they crashed into an electric car dealership.

One of the helicopters exploded after the crash, causing a fire that then spread through 20 of the vehicles at the dealership.

Fabio Contreiras, a local firefighter, told Brazilian outlet GloboNews: "We were able to control the fire and it was put out, but unfortunately there were no survivors."

According to local police, early indicators suggest that human error was to blame for the accident.

In a statement, acting Rio governor Ricardo Couto said: "In this moment of pain, I express my solidarity with the family and friends of the victims of the tragedy."

Tree's famous friends quickly took to social media to share tributes to the star, including KSI, who admitted it "still doesn't feel real".

He wrote: "Can't believe I'm actually having to type this. You're 32 man. You should still be here. You still had so much life to live.

"So much music to make. So much content to make. You're a legend and will always be a legend. Still doesn't feel real. Genuinely feel sick. I love you bro."

While comedian Whitney Cummings added in a post on her Instagram page: "Oliver is one of the most talented people on earth and usually that comes with an ego and all kinds of d***head nonsense, but Oliver is pure love and the best version of what an artist can and should be.

"There's no silver lining. We lost a giant"

Singer Bebe Rexha wrote in her tribute on X: "I'm in shock. I was in the middle of my CD signing in NYC when I found the news of Oliver Tree. I can't believe it.

"We recorded a record together to be on Dirty Blonde. He was so smart. Passionate. Talented. Kind. I'm so sad. May he rest in peace."

Tree was in the midst of a world tour that began on May 30 in Mexico City, in support of his new album Love You Madly, Hate You Badly.

He announced the tour on X last month, writing at the time: "The world's first world tour 7 continents. 40+ countries. 6 months of beautiful chaos. See you out there."
