Denise Richards is in a "happy place" amid her divorce from Aaron Phypers.
The World is Not Enough actress split from her husband last July after six years of marriage and while it means her life is taking a different path to what she expected, she is embracing her "new chapter" and feels good about the future.
She told People magazine: "This is a whole new chapter for me in general. No one goes into a marriage thinking they're going to get divorced. So, my whole life has changed on every level, but I feel so good and I'm just in such a happy place and happy to continue working and being able to do what I love to do."
Although Denise - who has 15-year-old Eloise with Aaron - spoke about her experiences on the most reason season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, she claimed she had initially wanted to keep the bitter split private, but suggested she had no choice but to open up.
She said: "It's really hard going through a divorce as it is, but then to have it so public....
"I originally wanted everything to be private, but it takes two people in the divorce to feel that way, so I had to make hard decisions to have it be out there knowing that it would be out there. So it was a very hard decision, but I would like to -- once I get through this a little bit more -- be able to help other women who are in similar situations that I've been in too."
One part of her life that Denise is particularly grateful for is that eldest daughters Sami, 22, and 21-year-old Lola - who she has with ex-husband Charlie Sheen - have repaired their feud, four months after her eldest daughter accused her youngest sister on TikTok of dating her ex-boyfriend.
The 55-year-old star explained Lola - who denied Sami's allegations - recently enjoyed a sleepover at her sister's house.
Denise said: "They called me on FaceTime, and I was so happy.
"It was so fun as a mom to see my daughters hang out and have a sleepover. My sister and I used to do that. We're close in age too, so I love that. It was nice."
