Mel B was once fired from Pizza Hut.

The 51-year-old pop star has recalled being fired from her first-ever job at the pizza chain restaurant, but Mel was subsequently rehired because she proved to be such a hit with the Pizza Hut customers.

Speaking to Us Weekly, Mel explained: "My first job was at Pizza Hut. I was fired every week for messing up orders and then rehired every week because the customers liked me."

Despite this, Mel - who shot to stardom as a member of the Spice Girls alongside Geri Horner, Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham and Melanie C - has never been a fan of fast food.

The chart-topping star said: "I don't ever order fast food. I don't like to eat anything processed."

Instead, Mel likes to eat some traditional British food.

She said: "My favourite comfort meal is roast chicken, Yorkshire pudding, gravy, sprouts, roast potatoes and the full works."

Mel married Rory McPhee in 2025, and she admits that their romance has proven to be particularly fortunate for her.

The singer shared: "I am lucky to be married to a great cook, so I rarely cook. But when I do, I make a spicy fish soup that I love."

Mel once vowed never to marry again after her split from Stephen Belafonte.

The pop star split from the film producer in acrimonious circumstances in 2017, and Mel didn't think she would tie the knot again - until she met Rory.

Mel - who announced her engagement to Rory in 2022 - told People: "I was like, 'I'm never going to get married again. Never, never, never. I'm never having a relationship. I'm fine by myself. I want to raise my kids, put my head down and work, and that's it'. And then … never can say never, can you?"

The loved-up duo have been family friends for years.

But Mel grew closer to Rory - who is a hair stylist - after she relocated from the US to the UK following her split from Stephen.

The singer - who was also married to Jimmy Gulzar between 1998 and 2000 - shared: "He was just there patiently waiting, always there to give me a hair treatment, always there to talk. He's a great listener. And he just became more and more of a friend, and more and more important in my life.

"It'd been a long time that anybody was that kind to me."
