Spencer Pratt has claimed Jamie Foxx and Leonardo DiCaprio are supporting his campaign to be Mayor of Los Angeles.

The 42-year-old reality star is contesting the post against incumbent Mayor Karen Bass and council member Nithya Raman and while he has received public backing from the likes of his former Hills co-stars Brody Jenner, Kristin Cavallari, and Audrina Patridge, socialite Paris Hilton, rapper Big Sean and actor Dennis Quaid, he has now claimed the Hollywood heavyweights have privately praised his efforts.

He told Us Weekly magazine: "Usually I don't name-drop, but I had two of my favorite people ever support me. Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx both said, 'Please, Mr. Mayor, we want these streets safe again.'

"If their reps try to deny this happened, I have multiple witnesses. It was an out-of-body experience."

According to Entertainment Weekly, Leonardo has not publicly or privately endorsed any candidate.

Spencer decided to run for mayor after he and wife Heidi Montag lost their home in the devastating California wildfires of 2025, and he thinks fellow victims of the disaster are delighted to have him on their side.

He said: "When I announced [my run] in front of thousands of fire victims, everyone cheered so much that it kicked off a new path of being taken seriously.

"And as I go to all of these communities and meet with community leaders, they just have so much faith in me."

The Pratt Daddy Crystals owner is running on a campaign which prioritises public safety, empowering small businesses, enforcing fiscal integrity within City Hall and adopting a "treatment-led recovery model" to homelessness which focuses on addressing addiction and mental health issues.

Acknowledging his lack of political experience, he said: "My number one qualification is I'm not corrupt.

"I have humility in that I know that I've never run a city, so I'm going to put a team around me of the smartest, most talented people. We need to bring in people who aren't just bureaucratic city-entrenched people.

"We need people from the private sector who are running major corporations with bigger budgets to advise and help us become a more profitable city. My biggest skill is being an actual outsider."

And he dismissed rival Raman's suggestion he is a "big MAGA person".

He said: "I'm not either party. I'm a centrist; my party is common sense.

"Everything I say is nonpartisan. Spencer Pratt is Spencer Pratt, and he represents all of Los Angeles."
