The 2026 Oscar winner for best international film tops the DVD releases for the week of May 26.

"Sentimental Value": This Norwegian comic-drama from writer-director Joachim Trier concerns a veteran film director (Stellan Skarsgård) who abandoned his family years earlier. Renate Reinsve and Elle Fanning co-star.

"Renate Reinsve is the new face of Scandinavia: depression with a smile," writes Los Angeles Times film critic Amy Nicholson in her review. "Standing 5 feet 10 with open, friendly features, the Norwegian talent has a grin that makes her appear at once like an endearing everywoman and a large, unpredictable child. Reinsve zoomed to international acclaim with her Oscar-nominated performance in Joachim Trier's 2021 'The Worst Person in the World,' a dramedy tailor-made to her lanky, likable style of self-loathing. Now, Trier has written his muse another showcase, 'Sentimental Value,' where Reinsve plays an emotionally avoidant theater actor who bounces along in pretty much the same bittersweet key."

NEW ON DVD MAY 26

"Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie": An adaptation of the Canadian television series from comics Matt Johnson and Jay McCarrol about two musicians desperate to land their first gig.

"Dreams": An American philanthropist and a Mexican ballet dancer engage in a torrid affair across borders. Starring Jessica Chastain and Isaac Hernández.

OUT ON DIGITAL HD MAY 26

"Over Your Dead Body": Remake of the 2021 Norwegian film "The Trip" about a couple on the rocks (Samara Weaving and Jason Segel) who go to an isolated vacation cabin each with a plan to kill the other — that is, until circumstances force them back together against a bigger problem. Lonely Island member Jorma Taccone directs.

"Fuze": An unexploded bomb from World War II is found at a construction site in present-day London, which provides cover for a daring criminal operation in this crime thriller starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Theo James, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Sam Worthington.
