Cardi B attended Monday's (04.05.26) Met Gala despite being "actually sick".

The Bodak Yellow hitmaker walked the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York for the annual fundraising fashion extravaganza in a custom Marc Jacobs lace gown inspired by his 2025 collection, but admitted she wasn't feeling completely at her best.

In an X post shared by Variety, Cardi told reporters: "You wanna know a secret? I'm actually sick and I have a fever."

The 33-year-old rapper's divisive gown featured two voluminous masses around her shoulders and at the bottom of the dress, which featured sections of different colours including pink, orange and purple blending into a nude shade, as well as light pink gloves underneath the satin in her hands and black leaf stitching along the dress.

With the theme for the night being Costume Art, with a dress code of Fashion is Art, Vogue reported the silhouette of Cardi's dress was inspired by German artist Hans Bellmer, who was known for producing life-sized female dolls.

Cardi recently spoke about how her attitude to fashion has changed in recent years, with her opting for more "timeless" accessories rather than "ugly" statement pieces.

Speaking on Aspire with Emma Grede, she said: "Sometimes I'll look at my closet and think, These bags are kind of ugly. And even with jewellery, sometimes I'll be like, 'Wow, nobody wears these chains anymore. Why did I buy a chain with my name on it so big? It's so ugly.'

"Don't buy a chain with your name on it. That's not timeless.

"Now if you buy a tennis necklace or bracelet, it's timeless. Jewellery styles change every two to three years. And I'll ask myself, Why did I buy this?' It's so ugly?"

Cardi urged people to invest their money into designer handbags instead of flashy necklaces.

She said: "Make sure you buy timeless Hermès bags because I have so many of them and it's like…the value of certain things just go up and down, and it's like, oh my god, I just spent so much money on this."
