Britney Spears' ex Sam Asghari reveals what he thinks about the pop star checking into rehab

Britney Spears' ex-husband Sam Asghari thinks it's "great" she has checked into rehab.
The 32-year-old model - who split from the pop star just over a year after they married in June 2022 - is pleased for the Toxic hitmaker, after she voluntarily entered a treatment facility five weeks after she was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol (DUI) in Ventura, California in early March.
When asked by TMZ what his thoughts are about Britney going to rehab, he said: "I think it's great.
"I think anything that has anything to do with healing and great things … and as long as the person is in charge of that, it's all great."
However, Sam admitted he hasn't been in contact with Britney recently.
When asked if he has spoken to her "at all", he said: "Uh, no."
Just two days after her arrest in March, Sam called for privacy for Britney following her "mistakes".
He told Fox News: "When it comes to people making mistakes, I understand that. I think that everyone deserves privacy. And I hope the press has learned from the past, that they give her the privacy that she needs."
Earlier this month, Britney's ex Kevin Federline - who has sons Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, with the star - admitted he is "happy" Britney has entered rehab.
Kevin's attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan told TMZ in a statement: "Kevin is aware of the reports that she has checked into rehab and that if she needs help, he is happy that she is getting help and that the decision appears to be one that she made and not one imposed upon her by others if it was.
"The key is that whatever the recommended treatment plan is that she follows it and completes it."
Sean and Jayden are said to have played a "big part" in Britney deciding to get treatment.
An insider told PEOPLE magazine: "Her sons were a big part of getting her to rehab. They've been clear with her. They just want her to be healthy."
Another source told the outlet: "People close to Britney encouraged her to seek treatment.
"She understands the seriousness of her situation and felt this was the best step moving forward. She's now seeking treatment."
