Chad King: 'Christina Applegate has been a guiding light for me living with MS'

Christina Applegate has been a "guiding light" for Chad King as he lives with multiple sclerosis (MS).
The 54-year-old actress and the A Great Big World member, 40, were diagnosed with the incurable chronic autoimmune disease that impacts the brain and spinal cord in 2021 and 2007, respectively, and Christina's openness about living with MS has given comfort and strength to Chad.
The Say Something hitmaker told People: "Christina Applegate has been a guiding light for me in this whole process, which has been amazing.
"Every person with MS has different symptoms. It varies completely. Christina has different symptoms than me, and it's like we're going through our own struggles, but we can come together. She lifts me up."
Chad added: "She's just reminding me that there's so much good in your life. As dark as and heavy as this moment is, there's so much light."
On Monday (20.04.26), Christina declared she is "getting stronger and better every day" after TMZ reported that the Married... With Children alum was "admitted" to a Los Angeles hospital in "late March" for an unknown reason.
In a statement shared to Instagram, Christina penned: "Thank you for the outpouring of love and well wishes.
"Health issues are a constant for me, but I'm a strong chick and I'm getting stronger and better every day. I'm taking a moment to focus on my health, but I'll be back with more to say soon enough."
A representative for the Vacation star declined to confirm details of her reported hospitalisation.
They told TMZ: "I have no comment whether she is in the hospital or what her medical treatments are.
"She's had a long history of complicated medical conditions that she has been refreshingly open about, as evidenced in her memoir and on her podcast."
Like Chad, Christina has been open about living with MS through interviews and her podcast, MesSy, which she co-hosts with 44-year-old Jamie-Lynn Sigler - who was diagnosed with MS in 2002.
In March 2025, Christina revealed she ended up in hospital more than 30 times with "unimaginable" pain with her MS, which can cause issues including muscle weakness, vision changes and numbness.
Speaking on the MesSY podcast, the Bad Moms cast member explained: "This is really important because for three years, since I was diagnosed, I've been in the hospital upwards of 30 times from throwing up, diarrhoea and pain that is unimaginable.
"They've done every test known to man on me, put so much radiation into my body from CT scans to everything else."
Christina - who is largely confined to her bedroom because of her MS battle - urged her listeners to get checked out over certain issues, and she described the problem as being like every organ in the body is "fighting" with the other.
The Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy entertainer said: "Now, maybe this isn't what's happening, but I'm just gonna tell you this: Talk to your doctor about motility issues, OK?
"Because one of the things with MS is that it slows down our organs - not completely, but there is a slowing of the function of your organs. I'm gonna be really honest, if I have to poop, I puke. And when I puke, I get all the pain, and then all the things happen.
"So, there's this really horrible argument. It's like everyone's fighting with each other."
