Once-canceled Louis C.K. to headline Hollywood Bowl comedy fest

NEW YORK — Once-canceled comedian Louis C.K. has apparently been declared rehabilitated and will headline a show at The Hollywood Bowl next month.
Nearly a decade after being accused by several women of masturbating in front of them and then admitting that “these stories are true,” the Grammy-winning funnyman has begun working again with Netflix for the first time since the 2017 scandal.
On May 5 he will perform at the Hollywood Bowl in the streamer’s “Netflix Is a Joke Fest,” and his new comedy special, “Ridiculous,” is set to debut on the streaming service’s airwaves this summer.
While he has been out of the larger limelight since the New York Times first publicly exposed his behavior during the height of the Me Too movement, the canceled comedian has not been idle. Just nine months later, he stuck his toe into the performance scene with a couple of drop-in sets at the Comedy Cellar in New York City. Sold-out stand-up performances soon followed, and then several specials, including “Sincerely Louis C.K.,” which won a Grammy. He self-released two more specials in 2023 and a novel last fall.
He also toured in Europe and the U.S., and last summer he led the 2025 New York Comedy Festival lineup. He also participated, along with several other high-profile comedians, in the Riyadh Comedy Festival in Saudi Arabia. Fellow Hollywood Bowl funnymen will include Shane Gillis, John Mulaney and Marcello Hernández. The festival runs from May 4 to May 10.
