Chrysler parent Stellantis NV said it's recalling about 848,000 Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram vehicles in the United States due to radio software that can prevent rearview cameras from operating properly.

The glitch, which results in the rearview camera image not appearing on the media screen, affects various 2026 and 2027 model year Chrysler Pacifica, Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid and Voyager, Dodge Charger, Jeep Cherokee, Compass, Gladiator, Grand Cherokee, Grand Wagoneer and Wrangler, and Ram 1500, 2500 and ProMaster vehicles.

An additional 107,000 vehicles are being recalled in Canada, Mexico and other markets, the automaker said in a statement from spokesperson Frank Matyok.

The company said it's unaware of any accidents or injuries. It said as customers await on the repair, "drivers should remain aware of their surroundings and use their rearview and side mirrors when reversing."

The fix involves an over-the-air radio software update. When the update is available, drivers will see a prompt on the vehicle's screen. Recall notices with more details are set to be mailed to affected customers starting next month.
