Auto review: Audi keeps the sporty sedan alive with 2026 S5
Published in Automotive News
For years, Audi has been popular among consumers looking for sporty vehicles that don’t break the bank, with models from the basic A-Type to the S-Type and RS-Type. Today we consider the 2026 Sporty S5 sedan.
As a sedan lover, I found testing this vehicle both fun and thrilling as I pushed the S5 to the brink in Florida for seven days.
Its acceleration and comfort were in focus. The S6 is powered by a 3.0 liter turbocharged V-6 engine producing 362 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque, paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive. No slouch, it clocked clocked zero-to-60 at 5.6 seconds.
Standard features on our S5 tester included a 14.5-inch touchscreen display, LED headlights, navigation and a wireless phone charging pad. Among seven color options was our Magnet Grey with Arras Red interior, available at no extra charge.
Our S5 tester also had the Prestige package. This included a slew of additional items most sedan lovers would enjoy for an additional $7,550: adaptive cruise control, Bang & Olufsen sound system and headrest speakers, OLED taillights, head-up display, LED interior lighting pro package and panoramic glass roof. Our Edition One package included 20-inch multispoke S-design wheels with a tricolor finish and black offset accents.
Audi’s vehicles are designed around sportiness, with power and comfort top priorities. For the sedan lovers, the S5 is a dream machine not only to drive but to ride. With its long history of success, the S5 is still here for a reason.
