Does God care about mundane daily decisions?

on

From the writings of the Rev. Billy Graham

Q: Decision making is hard. There are so many choices from what we eat to what we do. Does God care about daily decisions like these? – H.D.

A: No one is on Earth by chance or by accident. God has known each person long before the world was created. Life is ours to travel, but it’s still granted by God. The question is: Since our origin is from Him, will we give ourselves back to Him and by choice and faith learn to walk with Jesus every day until we return to Him? We either receive Him and eternal life in Heaven, or we reject Him and will be forever separated from Him for eternity. This is life’s most important question. It’s more important than what school we go to or what career we pursue.

God could have created us and then abandoned us and forgotten all about us. Many people, in fact, believe this is exactly what God must have done, or at least they act as if they do. They assume God isn’t interested in them, so why should they be interested in Him? To them, God is distant, remote, unconcerned about the problems and decisions they face every day.

But this isn’t true! God desires to be with us; do we want to walk with Him? Imagine walking in the woods and after an hour you came to a fork in the trail. Now you have two paths ahead. Which is right? Which will get you to your destination?

One path appears wider and easier to navigate – the path has been heavily traveled. Another hiker approaches and you ask, “Which path is the best?” The hiker says, “The other path will take you to your destination safely.” You ask, “How do you know that so confidently?” The hiker responds, “I walked that path yesterday and will accompany you along the way.” Jesus is the way.
