The night Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato 'crashed a prom' after missing out as child stars

Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato once "crashed a prom" because they didn't get one of their own.
The two former child stars have recalled a moment they both attended the Princess Protection Program premiere in 2009, before realising there was a prom taking place "next door".
The close pals were looking back at their shared memories for Rare Beauty's Life in Selfies video, linked to their joint Still Making Each Other Blush campaign.
After being shown the snap of them on the red carpet, Demi, 34, said: "Do you remember we crashed a prom after that night?"
Selena, also 34, admitted she "totally forgot that", but her friend added: "There was a prom next door or something and we decided to crash it."
The Only Murders In The Building star quipped: "Because why wouldn't we?"
Demi noted that they "didn't get a prom", which led to their decision, while Selena said: "We wanted to go to prom so we intruded on someone else's prom."
Cool Hot Summer hitmaker Demi joked: "I'm sure we made their day."
She admitted she did go to prom at a later point, but insisted that was "a different story", referencing the following year, when Demi attended prom with her friend Nolan Nardecchia.
She wrote on social media at the time: "A promise made in kindergarten finally coming true … Prom with Nolan!"
Former Disney Channel stars Demi and Selena have known one another for over 27 years and earlier this year publicly reunited for the first time in almost a decade at one of Demi's concerts.
Though they haven't been in "constant communication" over the decades, they have always "loved and adored" one another.
Demi, who has teamed up with Selena for a new campaign for her pal's Rare Beauty brand, told America's Elle magazine: "We've been friends since we were seven years old when we met on Barney.
"There have been different chapters throughout our lives, and naturally, friends are in each other's lives heavily at times, and then sometimes you're not in constant communication.
"But Selena is someone that I've always loved and adored. It's really great to be in a place today where we can collaborate on things, but also just hang out and spend time together."
Demi and Selena spent years as kids discussing walking down the red carpet together, but when the time finally came for them to pull off the pose they had dreamed of, linking arms at the elbows, their moment at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards didn't quite go as they envisioned.
Demi recalled: "We started laughing because we thought we would look so much cooler than we actually did.
"It was so much better planned in our heads."
