Former Fox Business producer and rape accuser Jennifer Eckhart is dead at 36 from suicide.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office reported that paramedics responding to a call from Eckhart’s mother found the victim dead in her Hobe Sound home shortly before noon on Saturday.

“[A first responder] explained upon arrival he located the decedent inside the bathtub with a large laceration to the front of her throat/neck and there was a folding pocketknife next to her right hand,” according to a police report.

Police said “multiple blood splatters were found near both sides of Eckhart’s head. The county’s coroner’s office confirmed Eckhart ended her own life.

Eckhart sued former Fox News host Ed Henry and the network in 2020 alleging she was brutally raped and subsequently harassed while working with the Fox News and Fox Business cable channels as well as the Fox Nation streaming platform.

Henry, who now works for Newsmax, said their 2017 sexual encounter involving handcuffs in a hotel room was consensual.

The 55-year-old broadcaster settled a civil suit filed by the plaintiff who accused him in of leaving her “injured, bruised and battered with bloody wrists” in June 2025, according to Courthouse News Services.

Henry was fired by Fox News following an internal investigation into Eckhart’s allegations. He wasn’t prosecuted.

Eckhart’s case against Fox News — which had a storied history of sexual misconduct claims prior to her complaint — was dismissed in March.

She alleged that the network “continues to protect and reward perpetrators of sexual harassment and refuses to take accountability for putting such persons in positions of power,” according to NPR.

Eckhart was hired by Fox Business in 2013 and left the company in 2020. Fox effectively told the court Eckhard’s dismissal was based on poor performance and frequent tardiness. Representatives for the media giant said they weren’t aware of her claim against Henry prior to her departure.

Former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson offered her condolences to Eckhart’s family.

“Her courage in coming forward will never be forgotten and she undoubtedly inspired so many others,” she wrote.

Fox News settled a sexual harassment lawsuit Gretchen filed against company CEO Roger Ailes for $20 million in 2016.
