NEW YORK — The HBO medical drama “The Pitt” will feature two new physicians and at least five new patients when the show returns for its third season.

Deadline reports the newcomers admitted to Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center will include Barry Clifton and Brent Saxton from Paramount’s hit show “The Madison.” Both actors will reportedly play emergency room patients.

They’ll be joined by Hannah Ware from “The One,” Stephen Chang of “Bosch: Legacy” and Lawrence Kao from “Walker: Independence,” whose characters are also seeking medical assistance.

“The Sticky” star Chris Diamantopoulos and JB Tadena from “Kung Fu” will be among the doctors tending to their needs.

The show’s star, Noah Wyle, who played head doctor Michael ‘Robby’ Robinavitch in “The Pitt’s” first two seasons, told Deadline that Season 3 will focus on physicians healing themselves as much as their patients. That includes his stressed-out character, who’s focusing on his own mental health.

“It’s fragile, and it’s not without risk and vulnerability, but it’s at least there’s forward progress,” Wyle said.

The new season takes details the hour-by-hour activity in a busy emergency room on Nov. 12. That’s the day after Veterans Day and and two weeks prior to Thanksgiving. HBO hasn’t said exactly when Season 3 will begin streaming, thought new episodes are expected to air in January as they did in the series’ first two seasons.

“The Pitt” has been nominated for 38 Emmy Awards — 25 of which are for the ceremony taking place in September. They’ve one five, including Wyle’s 2025 recognition for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. He is also nominated for his work on the show’s second season.
