NEW YORK — Perez Hilton’s mother has filed for temporary custody of his three children in the wake of his troubling TikTok livestream, during which the celebrity gossip blogger appeared to slash himself with a knife.

The petition was filed by Teresita Lavandeira in Miami family court on Friday. According to the documents, which were obtained by US Weekly, Hilton has already “voluntarily consented” to the request.

Hilton is a single father to three children born via surrogacy. They are Mario, 13, Mia, 11, and Mayte, 8. His mother’s filing came just days after the blogger appeared to engage in acts of self-harm while livestreaming from inside his Miami home.

On Aug. 5, deputies with the Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residence after fielding a series of phone calls from those troubled by Hilton’s online behavior. While the 15-minute stream has been removed from TikTok, it showed Hilton holding a knife while naked and bloody with visible cuts to his body.

When deputies arrived on the scene around 7 p.m., they assessed the situation, and Hilton was “safely recovered and transported” to a local hospital.

According to a statement from the family, the blogger’s three children, niece and sister were inside the home before he went live while suffering “a severe mental health crisis.”

“The events of the past several days have been nearly unbearable for our family,” they said.

“Just minutes before the public livestream incident, Perez’s children, niece, and sister were inside the home,” statement continued. “When it became clear that Perez was experiencing a severe mental health crisis and harming himself, they immediately fled to protect the children from witnessing any further trauma.”

In an update on Saturday, Hilton’s family told fans that the blogger “remains hospitalized under Florida’s Baker Act” and that his condition is “serious but stable.”

“He experienced significant blood loss and sustained additional injuries that will require surgery in the coming days,” the statement read. “His treatment and recovery will be a long process.”
